Founded in 1991, Debut Theatre Company is Northern Colorados only non-profit young persons theatre academy and acting company. Debut is the only hands-on, year-round, non-profit, troupe structured, progressional children's theatre in Colorado.
Debut Offers troupes, classes and workshops for a wide range of ages talents and interest levels; each celebrates with a final performance in front of an audience.
Debut was formed both as an outlet for creative young people, as well as to provide theatre that could be enjoyed by adults and children alike. More than just acting, the show is a team effort that the members can take pride in.
That's what Debut is all about: Young people on stage, backstage and in the audience!
"Theatre for young people, by young people" is more than just a motto. Debut is a "hands-on" company, believing that learning is best done by doing and that quality arises through pride of ownership and participation. The members are the actors, as well as the participants in the design and construction of everything from posters to costumes to sets. Debut's members are Debut!
Imagination is the key ingredient of Debut Theatre Company. The use of imagination allows our young people to realize that they can create their own boundries. Because the production of a play embodies qualities a person needs to face life's challenges - dedication, creativity, confidence, desire, responsibility - we believe Debut's kind of encouragement is important to the future success of our members.
Being a member of Debut involves teamwork, professionalism, and most of all, fun!
