Director of Office Management

Debut is immediately hiring an office manager to be the primary administrator for Debut Theatre Company (DTC), responsible for all day-to-day operations and providing support to the teachers as needed. They are also the primary point of contact for all current and prospective student families, offering information and support to facilitate a positive experience.

Founded in 1991, Debut theatre is a non-profit theatre school based upon production of classic literature in a troupe structure. DTC is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduation required

  • Pass a background check due to position’s interaction with minors

  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Ability to learn and implement updated office systems such as Constant Contact, Canva, Squarespace, and Jackrabbit (online student registration system)

  • Familiarity with common office equipment such as printers and copiers

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Excellent customer service skills. Maturity to interact with people in a tactful and gracious manner and to maintain confidentiality

  • Sense of initiative and professional integrity, able to hold self to deadlines and follow through with tasks in a detailed manner

  • Enjoyment of creative tasks such as designing posters, programs, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Keep regular, posted office hours throughout the week

  • Handle all day-to-day operations including, but not limited to, responding to emails, answering phone calls, making copies, filing, and inputting and managing data

  • Oversee student registration for spring, summer, and fall sessions using the online registration platform Jackrabbit

  • Provide administrative support to teachers by communicating with parents, creating programs, copying scripts, and updating student files

  • Work with the Director of Community Engagement and the Advisory Board to support Capital Campaign efforts through technical support and marketing

  • Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of physical facility and supplies

Position Type:

Part-time, 15 hrs/week

Compensation:

$16-18 an hour

Mid October-Early November

Spring 2026 Directors

Debut is excited to be hiring Teacher Artists to share their passion for the theatre arts with young people. Classes meet for 15 weeks with a performance at the end of the semester. Individuals must have awareness of both the acting and technical theatre aspects of live theatre and the acumen to inspire young people to learn “hands-on”.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Teaching or performing arts preferred

  • Acting experience

  • Backstage and design experience

  • Teaching experience

  • Strong communication skills

  • Able to be trusted with responsibility

  • Able to pass background check

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to create a conducive learning environment that is fun, approachable, inclusive, and safe

  • Fosters collaboration, communication, creativity, and empathy

  • Collaborates with Assistant Director and staff

  • Creates lesson plans

  • Prepare students for semester ending performance (scripts provided)

  • Able to teach a range of experience, maturity and personalities

Compensation:

$20 an hour

Starting Dates:

Position starting mid-January to early February
